The popular forum website www.merseysideanglers.com held charity fundraising matches throughout the year in and around Merseyside donating not only the money raised but also the individual competition winnings also.

The BDAA have been selected as one of the forums chosen charities for 2009 raising £382.00 to help the charity continue with its works helping disabled children and adults, the cash was presented to BDAA chairman Rick Keeley himself from Merseyside who gratefully accepted the generous donation. Terry Moseley President BDAA commented “It’s always great to see support from within angling itself, especially when the country is in a recession which effects the income of charities and families alike, we are proud to have been nominated as the beneficiaries of this kind donation and thank everyone who made it all possible, the www.merseysideanglers.com members are a credit to angling”.

BDAA specifically wish to thank the following: Smudge, Bri, Tez, Darren, Woody, Scatty, Tony, Danny, Mick, Mark M, Neilkath, Ade, Pacman, Davy, Lee, Sam,  Rokerrebel, Col, Alf, Kenny, Jay, Robbo & Piotr. My apologies if I have missed anyone.

The registered charity works with children & adults with physical, Sensory & Learning disabilities  providing organising fishing days to groups that may never have had the chance. In addition the charity works with government agencies to change the physical aspect of fisheries across the UK & Europe providing new opportunities to disabled people in angling.
