Michael Dodd's disability angling day for children.

During July BDAA organised two separate events at the Albrighton Moat trust near Telford Shropshire, 22 year old angler Michael sadly suddenly passed away in 2008, as a mark of respect his mother Lorraine accepted BDAA`s offer to mark the anniversary by using the latest fund raising by the locals in the Crown Inn public house.

The days saw 30 disabled children from Wilson Stuart Sports College for disabled children www.wilsonstuart.co.uk enjoy the fishing at the Moat, as always the children loved the opportunity many choosing fishing with BDAA rather than any other end of term treat which is a great tribute to the BDAA angling coaches who make sure the days are a complete success.

The weather wasn't always kind to us, despite this the children wouldn't leave their fishing rods to go for cover deciding to brave the showers to make the most of their fishing, Terry Moseley President of the BDAA commented " these days are always a success, the support from Michaels friends and family have ensured that BDAA were able to fund the day and ensure the children from the school get maximum time fishing. I am sure that Michael would have been delighted that the event had been held as a tribute to him and we are extremely thankful for the support of the Crown Inn and the Dodds family and friends that made it all possible".
We are now looking forward to next years events and hopefully to give more children the same opportunity.
