BDAA president Terry Moseley along with trustees Carey Sutton & Gary Rodriguez recently visited Teglan Fishery http://www.teglan.net/ for the Sky Sports "Tight Lines" film crew to produce a feature on Carp fishing on the fly, featured on the show 21st August http://www.skysports.com/tv_show/story/0,20144,12976_5094613_12976,00.html Keith Arthur once again supported the UK`s disabled anglers by highlighting that anything is possible when Mark Owen owner of Teglan Fisheries and a wheelchair angler himself demonstrated where there is a will there is a way.

Mark & Terry fished with artificial dog biscuit from "Dragon Carp Flies" http://www.reelfishing.co.uk/carp-flies-dragon-tackle.html unfortunately our president failed to tempt the carp on the day of filming (seems to be a tradition every time he has the cameras trained on him), but Mark landed a variety of carp on the Platinum awarded fishery. Practice days proved to be more productive for all of the team with Terry, Carey, Gary & Mark all taking decent sized fish under the overcast skies on a variety of Dragon Carp flies with Dog Biscuit, Bread crust & Pellet fly being the preferred; in total contrast film day was the only day this year we had Mediterranean heat with the carp deciding to bask taking the odd well presented fly.

Mark fishing one armed due to his injuries after a motorcycle accident, used a fly rod and floating line to cast an impressive 20+ metres to reach the island where the carp were shading from the intense heat, an assortment of pellets and dog biscuits tempted the carp out into the open long enough for Mark to connect with quality fish, as Mark later explained its a matter of positive thinking focusing on what you can do rather than what you cant. Terry talking with the film crew and Mark said "Keith (Arthur) and Tight Lines always supported disabled angling, like Mark, Keith is interested in the angling abilities rather than inabilities helping to promote the benefits disabled people have in angling".
Terry representing BDAA has produced a number of films with "Tight Lines" and has appeared as Keith's studio guest over the past 10 years, this new offering is an insight to an alternative to authordox carp fishing to demonstrate that fish can be caught in a variety of methods and baits making fishing exciting and different, breaking barriers for disability Terry has vowed that new and innovative ways of fishing and adapting the sport to suit a wide variety of disabilities is the only way to promote angling and its endless benefits to all. He also went on to praised Mike & De Mason of Woodlands View Fishery Gold Award http://www.woodlandviewfishery.co.uk/ for giving a special dispensation to practice the method on the fishery producing over 100lbs of carp on the fly in 3 hours to show under the right conditions this method can produce some fantastic sport and weights.
Mark Owen and his family are dedicated to providing a level platform for inclusive fishing, Teglan is the proof that if enough thought is put into the design of fisheries, disability doesn't event become an issue. Terry Moseley former England International praised Keith Arthur and Sky Sports for their continued support to disabled people in angling.
