The parents of 22 year old Mike Dodd's, who tragically passed away whilst sleeping, contacted BDAA requesting that the donations from friends and family attending their sons funeral could be donated to the charity.

Reading the news article on Mike`s death and the tragic circumstances, made us think of how fragile we all are, one could never imagine the pain and anguish the family are going through so recently after Mikes funeral. What we can say is that this donation of £1,525.25 is one of the most unselfish acts we have encountered in our twelve years of charity work, the family wrote to Terry Moseley the president of the BDAA with the details of Mikes love of angling, commenting that making this donation would be something that Mike would have wanted.

On behalf of the trustees, the charity expressed its condolences to the family ,not knowing really what or how to say thank you. Terry Moseley wrote back to Mr & Mrs Dodd's asking permission to feature their son Mike`s story for everyone to read. MR & Mrs Dodd's wrote back saying that they would regard this as an honor, we have to say that the honor is all ours.

To be allowed to publish such a personal account of the families loss of their beloved son Mike & make BDAA the recipients of such a generous donation is one of the single most acts of kindness in the face of tragedy we have ever known, we thank Mike`s family and friends for their generosity at this sad time, and will ensure that their donation in Mikes memory will be used to benefit disabled children and adults, giving the opportunities and pleasure that Mike would have experienced in his fishing.

Our respect and thoughts are with Mike`s family and parents at this time.
